His name was Robert. He didn’t say much the first few times we were together. I don’t blame him. He didn’t know me, and I didn’t know him. We were from two very different worlds. I was the pastor of a church in the suburbs and could count on one hand the number of times I’d been to the west side of Chicago in my life. He was 12-year-old who had never been out of the west side. I told him I was there to help, but I’m sure he wondered how in the world I possibly could? For a long time, the only thing I remember him saying to me was the question he asked when it was time to go: “Are you coming back?” I was assigned to hang out with him for a couple hours once a week while we were at the program. Eventually we became friends. I’m not sure I was ever a great help to Robert, but he sure helped me.
On August 10th we will gather to launch the second half of our 2024 WITH Initiative, The Long Game: Are you coming back?

Brian
Think PATHWAY!
Just as pathways are important to our district strategically, so pathways are critical to missionally blessing our communities. It is a journey involving all kinds of critical milestones along the way. (Prayer, Equipping, Participation, Unity, Listening, Engaging, Learning, and probably more!)
Think PARTNERS!
We are not seeking to reinvent the wheel, but instead come alongside organizations in our community that are doing good work. A partnership is a relationship, not a one-time encounter.
