From the "CHAIR"
The Indianapolis District SDMI Convention on June 26
was a blest district event. The presence of the Lord and a
harmonious spirit was evident as we gathered into the
tabernacle. Our district SDMI team stood out with their matching
bright green shirts. We enjoyed the worship led by Dr.
Terry Toler and assisted by The Brothers (Rev. Mark
Hollingsworth, Rev. Don Peslis, and Dr. Stan Toler). It was
marvelous!
Rev. Peslis is married to Sandi Patty. She and her
parents attended a portion of the convention and the three of
them blessed us with a special song. What district can boast that
"the" Sandi Patty sang at their convention. WOW!
The teaching/preaching ministry of General Superintendent
Dr. Stan Toler was on target. His two lectures, 'The Five
Star Sunday School" and "7 Steps to a Successful Sunday
School," hit the bulls eye. I have both PowerPoint lectures:email

We presented to Dr. Kenneth T. Jewell, assistant
district superintendent, the Second Mile Award for 60 years as a
pastor, district, regional and national leader in the Church of the
Nazarene. A second recipient of the Second Mile Award was
Mr. Stephen Thompson from Indy South Side for his 30 plus
years in children's ministry in the local church and on the Indy
District.
Prior to the offering we had a special visit from Mr.
Bob Hickenbottham, head usher. This was a comedy routine by
Rev. Mark Hollingsworth. We all were filled with laughter.
There was some business to complete. We elected two
new SDMI board members, Mrs. Rita Wilson and Rev. Scott
Robinson. Welcome them to the district SDMI team. I received
a two-year renewal vote with 190 yea's and 5 no's. Thank you
for your support.
Our display tables were super. The business guests
with their display tables were very impressive. We all enjoyed
the pastries provided by Rollin' in the dough Cookie Dough
Fundraising Company.
Many thanks to all of the District SDMI volunteers, our
district superintendent Dr. Ted R. Lee, and the Camby Camp
staff for all of their help. But most of all thank you, Jesus, for a
very blest and special SDMI Convention.
